1. Introduction

Hi there — welcome to The Burnt Newf! By placing an order with me, you agree to the following terms and conditions. It’s nothing scary, just some guidelines to keep things running smoothly.


2. Custom Orders

  • Design Approval:
    For custom orders, I’ll work with you to finalize the design before starting. Once you’ve approved it, no further changes can be made.
  • Processing Time:
    Custom orders typically take at least a week to complete, but this can vary depending on how many orders I have at the time. I’ll keep you updated if there are any delays!
  • Variations:
    Since all pieces are handmade, slight variations in color, grain, and texture are expected — that’s part of the charm! Each piece is truly one of a kind.
  • Refunds/Exchanges:
    Custom orders are non-refundable and can’t be exchanged unless they arrive damaged or there’s an error on my end.

3. Digital Downloads

  • License and Usage:
    When you purchase a digital file, you’re getting a personal, non-transferable license to use it for personal projects only.
  • No Redistribution:
    You can’t resell, modify, or share the files.
  • No Refunds:
    Since digital files are instantly delivered, all sales are final.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (unless WooCommerce decides to adjust based on where you live — I’ll leave that up to the tech gods).
  • Payment is required at checkout, and I accept [Stripe, PayPal, etc.].

5. Shipping and Delivery

  • Processing Time:
    Each order is drawn by hand, which takes time and care. I try to start orders as quickly as possible, but days are only so long! If you need a rush on your order, just let me know — I’ll do my best to make it work, but I can’t guarantee it. I’ll keep you in the loop if there are any delays!
  • Shipping:
    Shipping times vary depending on where you live and the carrier. Once it’s in their hands, it’s out of mine.
  • Free Shipping (Canada):
    Free shipping within Canada is standard ground shipping — basically, a stamp on an envelope. No tracking is available for free shipping. If you want faster or tracked shipping, please choose a different shipping option at checkout.
  • Lost or Damaged Items:
    If your order arrives damaged, contact me within 10 days with photos, and I’ll make it right. I’m not responsible for lost or stolen packages once they’ve been shipped.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Design Ownership:
    While you own the physical product once it’s finished, the design itself remains mine.
  • Marketing:
    I may use photos or videos of your finished piece for marketing (without any personal info). If you’d rather I not share it, just let me know!

7. Cancellations and Modifications

  • Custom Orders:
    Once production has started, the order can’t be canceled. I’ll send you an email to let you know when production begins.
  • Digital Products:
    Digital orders can’t be modified or canceled once downloaded.

8. Privacy Policy

Your personal information stays with me. I only use it to create your order, process payments securely, and handle shipping. I’ll never share or sell your info — promise.


9. Accuracy of Information

I do my best to keep things accurate, but if you spot an error — please be patient with me! I’m human, and sometimes I have more sawdust than sense.


10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

I might update these terms from time to time. Any changes will take effect once they’re posted here — so if you’re curious, check back occasionally.

Refund & Returns Policy

Thank you for supporting my woodburning art! Since each piece is handmade and custom-made with care, I generally do not offer refunds or returns. However, I want you to be happy with your order, so please read the policy below:

Returns & Refunds Eligibility

  • If you are unhappy with your order or if it arrives damaged, please contact me within 10 days of receiving your order.
  • To be eligible for a return or refund, you must provide:
    • A clear description of the issue.
    • Photos of the product showing any damage or quality concerns.
  • Returns and refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Custom Orders

  • Due to the personalized nature of custom orders, I cannot offer refunds or returns unless the product is damaged or there was an error on my part.
  • If a mistake was made in the customization that matches the details you provided during checkout, a refund or replacement will not be issued.

Damage During Shipping

  • If your order arrives damaged, please provide photos of the damaged product and the packaging.
  • I will work with you to find a solution, which may include a replacement or refund depending on the situation.

Return Process

  1. Contact me at theburntnewf@gmail.com within 10 days of receiving your order.
  2. If the return is approved and if the item is a custom order we will find a solution without shipping it back to me.
  3. If the return is approved and it is not a custom item, you will be responsible for shipping the item back to me.
  4. Once I receive the item and confirm its condition, I will process the refund or replacement.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom orders (unless damaged or incorrect).
  • Items sold as ‘fooled up’ discount bin items
